Copenhagen —
Thirty-eight rooms in a former shipyard office, glazed on three sides and unbothered by winter.
The building was drawn in 1961 for people who worked with their hands and has been treated with respect rather than reverence — the terrazzo stair, the steel windows and the canteen ceiling all stayed. Rooms are plain and well lit, with wool where you would expect cotton. The water is thirty metres from the door and swimmable most of the year, if you are that sort.
Good to knowCheck in from 15:00. Sauna until 22:00. The harbour bus stops outside every twenty minutes.
